Meet Chef Helen

Hi! My name is Rachel - a little about me and what I do -

My practice is rooted in a person-centered approach, ensuring that each session is tailored to your unique needs and experiences. Professionally and personally, I hold anti-oppressive and anti-racist beliefs, and therefore systems both in our world and interpersonally are important to bring into our sessions together.

As a culturally responsive therapist, I am deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space where individuals from all backgrounds feel seen, heard, and respected. I believe that culture, identity, and lived experiences are central to who we are, and I approach therapy with an understanding of how these intersect with mental health. I specialize in working with individuals navigating issues related to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, and other aspects of identity, as well as the unique challenges that can arise from systemic inequalities and discrimination. My approach is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, ensuring that our work together is tailored to your unique experiences and values. I integrate culturally sensitive practices into evidence-based therapeutic techniques, recognizing the impact of cultural and societal factors on mental well-being. My goal is to empower you to explore your strengths, challenge internalized biases, and build resilience, all while honoring your cultural identity. Together, we will work to dismantle barriers to healing, nurture self-compassion, and foster growth in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to you. Whether you are seeking support for personal challenges, relationship dynamics, or life transitions, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
